HELLO AMY AND PWHL TEAM,

As we had discussed, please see below the framework for our proposal for a new PWHL Series called ROAD TO GLORY. Our goal with this series is to develop programming that has not yet been done in the sports documentary space - a real time documentary series. Essentially, our goal is to create a series that follows key players from each team, telling the stories of the players and their teams in real time through the second season of the PWHL leading up to and through playoffs, culminating in the raising of the Walter Cup.
The main points of our proposal would be as follows:
  • This series be pitched to major platforms including Amazon Prime and Netflix. Our initial research shows that there is an appetite for this type of content.
  • The goal is that the cost of the production would be covered by a combination of the license fee and Canadian Tax Credit. S-Media would take on the financial risk in the initial production.
  • We propose a 5% producer fee for the PWHL be built into the budget. It is anticipated the budget will be $1.5-2M, depending on input and needs from the broadcaster and PWHL.
  • We propose that international rights would be jointly owned by the PWHL and S-Media with the goal to monetize the series outside the North American market.
  • Although the Road to Glory plan has an initial layout, we propose that the PWHL has an active role in the development of the series. It is possible that the broadcast platflorm will have an active role in the development as well.
Thanks Amy. The development document is attached in the link below as well as our relevant past episodes of Breaking Down Barriers around the PWHL.
Look forward to your thoughts!
